The Georgetown Hoyas basketball program has dismissed forward Greg Whittington for undisclosed reasons, the school announced on Saturday. The junior will likely be one of the most popular transfer-eligible players in the country after an up-and-down career in Washington, D.C.
Greg Whittington dismissed by Georgetown
Whittington will presumably transfer now.

Whittington, a 6’8 native of Columbia, MD, appeared in just 13 games with the Hoyas as a sophomore before being ruled academically ineligible. He planned to return to Georgetown this year, but a torn ACL over the summer apparently dashed that plan before he could hit the court. With this announcement, it appears he is officially done at the school.
This does leave the rest of college basketball with an intriguing transfer prospect, though. Over those 13 games last season, Whittington averaged 12.1 points, seven rebounds and two assists per game, including a 25-point, 11-rebound performance against Western Carolina.
