UCLA Bruins forward Travis Wear is expected back in time for their Nov. 18 game against Sacramento State, as he recovers from appendicitis, CBS Sports reported on Tuesday.
Travis Wear injury: UCLA forward expected back by third game
The Bruins will open the season a bit thin on the frontcourt.

Wear was diagnosed with appendicitis on Oct. 29, and the school wasn’t sure how long his recovery would take. The news came at a bad time for the Bruins, who are pretty thin in the frontcourt.
Wear, a fifth-year senior, is the most experienced member of the Bruins’ frontcourt. He averaged 10.9 points, good for third on the team, and 5.2 rebounds per game last season.
After Wear, the Bruins are left with senior David Wear and sophomore Tony Parker as the remaining post players on the roster. Freshman Wanaah Bail isn't expected back until sometime in November after having surgery on his knee over the summer.
The Bruins open the season with five straight games at home, starting against the Drexel Dragons on Nov. 9. They play the Oakland Golden Grizzlies on Nov. 12 before taking on the Sacramento State Hornets on Nov. 18.
