Wichita State vs. Saint Louis final score: Shockers eke out a win over Billikens, 70-65

Ron Baker had 22 for Wichita St. as they managed to retain their unbeaten mark.

In a clash of competitive mid-majors, the No. 12 Wichita St. Shockers outlasted the Saint Louis Billikens, 70-65, on Sunday. A layup in the final minute by Cleanthony Early sealed the deal for the Shockers, who improve to 8-0 on the season. Wichita used a 17-0 first half run to remain competitive, and was able to notch the victory behind 22 points from Ron Baker.

After falling behind 16-7, the Shockers ripped off the big run to take their first lead of the game. The Billikens responded with an 11-point run of their own. The rest of the game was played extremely tight, with the game tied heading into the final minute. It was Anthony's layup and two free throws from Fred Van Vleet that led the way to victory for Wichita.

Saint Louis got 18 points from Dwayne Evans, who also chipped in five rebounds and four assists. This is Saint Louis' second loss on the season, both to ranked opponents. The Billikens lost to Wisconsin on Thursday.

Wichita St. has taken care of business this season, beating BYU and now Saint Louis. The No. 12 team could move into the top 10 in the AP poll, with Duke and Gonzaga both losing this week.
