North Dakota State wasn’t supposed to march into South Bend and come away with a win, but that’s exactly what happened Wednesday when the Bison upset Notre Dame, 73-69, in the Black Rock Gotham Classic.
Notre Dame vs. North Dakota State final score: Bison shock Irish in South Bend
Marshall Bjorklund scored 26 points as NDSU pulled off a stunner in the Black Rock Gotham Classic.

Marshall Bjorklund scored 26 points in a dominating 11-of-14 shooting performance in a game that was close wire-to-wire. North Dakota State led by two at halftime and held on through a stressful final few minutes.
The Bison led by just one with 41 seconds to go after a pair of free throws from Notre Dame's Jerian Grant. However, a pair of North Dakota State free-throws followed by a Grant turnover put the visiting team back in control as time ticked away. A buzzer-beating three from Notre Dame's Pat Connaughton as time expired provided the final margin.
Guard Lawrence Alexander had 16 points and 14 rebounds to help Bjorklund. Notre Dame was led by 21 points from Connaughton.
The win for North Dakota State came on the same day that the university’s basketball and wrestling programs received final approval on a new $41 million arena.
