McDonald's All-American Chris Walker has been cleared to begin practicing with the Florida Gators, according to Gary Parrish of CBS. Walker -- the 12th-rated freshman in a deep class -- struggled to get academically eligible. The Bonifay, FL native still isn't cleared for game action, but could soon join a Gators team that is finally coming into its own.
Chris Walker reinstated to Florida, cleared to practice
The Gators will add a key piece when the freshman is able to get himself academically eligible.

Walker's ineligibility fits in with Florida's season, as the Gators have struggled to get their players on the floor. Scottie Wilbekin, Dorian Finney-Smith and Damontre Harris all started the season under suspension. Wilbekin and Finney-Smith have returned, but Harris remains on indefinite leave.
Wilbekin has been great since returning, leading his team over Kansas on Tuesday night. The Gators play their third straight ranked opponent -- No. 16 Memphis -- on Dec. 17.
Walker -- at 6'10 and 225 pounds -- would give Billy Donovan another big body to play alongside senior center Patric Young.
