While the Week 7 Associated Press college basketball poll appeared relatively unchanged from a week ago with the Arizona Wildcats leading a solid top five, losses by the Kentucky Wildcats and Kansas Jayhawks led to their respective falls.
College basketball rankings: Kentucky, Kansas drop in AP Poll
Arizona remained the No. 1 team in the land in a poll that, aside from Kansas’ and Kentucky’s falls, looked relatively stable compared to last week.

John Calipari's Kentucky squad dropped from 11th to 19th place after losing to the North Carolina Tar Heels, who themselves jumped from 18th to 14th. Kansas fell five spots from 13th to 18th after losing at now-No. 16 Florida before recovering against New Mexico.
The Gators moved up three spots with the victory against the Jayhawks.
Arizona earned 63 of 65 first-place votes and was followed in the rankings by Syracuse, Ohio State, Wisconsin and Michigan State. The only change from last week in the top 10 was Villanova sliding past UConn and earning 1,053 points to tie Duke for eighth in the rankings.
How little did the Top 25 overall move about? No team fell out of the rankings, and No. 17 Iowa State’s victory against then-No.23 Iowa didn’t bump the Cyclones up the standings. Meanwhile, the Hawkeyes fell only two spots.
