Kevin Ware: Louisville-Kentucky rivalry talk ‘old’ and ‘boring’

The Louisville guard says the players don’t really care that the Wildcats and Cardinals are supposed to be rivals.

Through the eyes of the fan, it doesn’t get much better than Louisville vs. Kentucky. Both fan bases are huge and rabid. Both programs are typically very good. And for now, both coaches have track records of success and controversy.

But that doesn't mean a whole lot to the players, at least according to Louisville guard Kevin Ware.

In a video published by Courier-Journal.com, Ware made it clear that the Dec. 28 matchup between the two teams would be just another game.

“It gets old,” Kevin Ware said. “It’s boring. We really don’t get into the whole UK-Louisville rivalry. It’s just another game for us. A lot of people take it to that further extent.

You can watch the full video below, in which Ware explains that most players on the Cardinals are not from Kentucky, so they did not grow up around the rivalry. Fans from Lexington might not be happy that Ware also says that the Cardinals don’t even really care that Kentucky exists at all.
