Iowa State vs. Auburn final score: Cyclones cruise to 99-70 win after huge first half

The No. 17 Iowa State Cyclones remained undefeated Monday, running away early at home in a 99-70 win over the Auburn Tigers.

Junior forward Dustin Hogue, a junior college transfer playing in his first season for the Cyclones, set career highs with 22 points and 16 rebounds. Hogue broke out early in the first half, like his team did, with 11 points and 10 rebounds in the game's first 12 minutes. It was during that stretch that Iowa State (6-0) began its 27-5 run that ultimately buried the Tigers in a 47-28 hole at halftime and a 60-33 deficit early in the second half.

Hogue was one of five Iowa State players in double figures; Melvin Ejim and Matt Thomas each had 14 points, Monte Morris scored 12, and Naz Long had 11.

Auburn (4-2) was 35.2 percent from the field and finished with 14 turnovers, getting almost no production outside its two starring guards Chris Denson and KT Harrell. Denson led all scorers with 27 points, and Harrell finished with 19.
