Connecticut vs. Washington final score: UConn drops other Huskies, 82-70

Shabazz Napier led the UConn Huskies past the Washington Huskies in Seattle.

Behind 20 points and six rebounds from Shabazz Napier, the No. 10 Connecticut Huskies rebounded from their first loss of the season to beat the Washington Huskies, 82-70, in Seattle on Sunday.

C.J. Wilcox led Washington with 19 points, his three-point shooting fueling an first-quarter run that had UW up 14 early. UConn’s offensive firepower proved to be too much over the course of the game, though.

The hero of the game for Kevin Ollie’s team might have been senior wing Lasan Kromah, who had 14 points on 7-of-10 shooting as well as five steals, helping UConn get out in the open court.

The loss moves Washington to 6-5 on the season, as Lorenzo Romar's team was unable to get a signature victory in non-conference play. They will need to play extremely well in Pac-12 play to have any chance of making the NCAA Tournament.

For UConn, the win in Seattle is another notch on the team’s resume this season. The Huskies enter their first season in the newly-created American Athletic Conference as one of the teams to beat.
