Cleanthony Early scored 16 points as No. 11 Wichita State erased an eight-point halftime deficit to defeat Oral Roberts, 71-58, Saturday at home.

The Shockers controlled the glass and ultimately controlled the game behind 16 points from Cleanthony Early.


The Shockers withstood a tough shooting night, especially from three, where they were just 4-of-15. Wichita State shot just 41 percent overall. The Golden Eagles weren’t much better, shooting just 40 percent from the field and 4-for-13 from beyond the arc.
The difference came inside, where Wichita State won the rebounding battle, 46-29, with three players pulling down seven or more. The Shockers also scored 42 points in the paint to just 12 for Oral Roberts.
Trailing at the break, Wichita State opened the second half on a 14-2 run to take a four-point lead. Anthony hit two threes and scored eight points in that stretch. Chadrack Lufile (14 points, seven rebounds), Tekele Cotton (11 points, seven rebounds) and Darius Carter (12 points, six rebounds) also scored in double-figures for the Shockers.
Shawn Glover played all 40 minutes and led Oral Roberts with a game-high 22 points.
