Florida’s Scottie Wilbekin will play vs. Kansas

The Gators’ point guard won’t miss a game after an ankle sprain last week.

David Butler II-USA TODAY Sports

Florida Gators point guard Scottie Wilbekin will return from an ankle injury and play Tuesday when the No. 15 Gators host the No. 6 Kansas Jayhawks, the school said Saturday in Chris Harry's blog at GatorZone.com.

Wilbekin injured his ankle going up for a rebound late in Florida's 65-64 loss to the Connecticut Huskies on Monday. Florida hasn't played since then, so Wilbekin didn't miss any games. He missed practice during the week and returned to practice Saturday.

Wilbekin was suspended for the first five games of the season, and he’s averaged 11.3 points and 5.7 assists per game in his three games played so far as a senior.

Meanwhile, freshman point guard Kasey Hill has participated in "some non-contact work" at practice but is questionable to return for Tuesday's game, Harry said at GatorZone.com. Hill suffered a high ankle sprain in a win over Southern on Nov. 18.
