Big Monday viewing guide: Top 20 showdowns in the Big East and Big 12

Georgetown hosting Marquette and Kansas State looking to beat rival Kansas on the road highlight Monday’s college hoops lineup.

USA TODAY Sports

A week after one of the worst Big Mondays in the history of Big Monday, the college basketball world looks to make amends. It certainly has the right slate of games to do so.

No. 18 Marquette at No. 15 Georgetown (7 p.m./ESPN)

Both teams have improved since the 49-48 “thriller” won by Marquette back on Jan. 5. The Hoyas are 12-1 at home while the Golden Eagles are just 2-4 on the road. At this point there are zero teams in the country that I trust to win away from home.

Old Dominion at Delaware (7 p.m./NBC Sports Network)

The Monarchs have looked like a completely different team in their first two games under interim coach Jim Corrigan, beating Drexel by 12 and taking CAA-leading Northeastern into overtime.

TCU at Oklahoma (7 p.m./ESPNU)

The Sooners will look to consolidate their huge win over Kansas with the team that had shocked them two days earlier.

No. 10 Kansas State at No. 14 Kansas (9 p.m./ESPN)

Speaking of the Jayhawks, who would have thought two weeks ago (or one week ago) that they would be ranked lower than their in-state rivals heading into this game? It’s the first time these two have met with the Wildcats being the better-ranked team since the 1988 NCAA Tournament. Perhaps more importantly, a win over KU will move K-State significantly closer to its first conference championship since 1977.
Alcorn State at Arkansas Pine-Bluff (9 p.m./ESPNU)

A win by Arkansas Pine-Buff will guarantee the Golden Lions at least a share of first place in the SWAC for another four days.
