The Connecticut Huskies picked a good time to put together one of their more complete performances of the season on Wednesday night. Playing in front of a packed house at the XL Center, the Huskies rallied in the second half to pick up a 66-58 win over the No. 6 Syracuse Orange.

The story of the game was free throw and three-point shooting. UConn went 8-for-15 from behind the arc, and hit 16 of their 24 free throws. ‘Cuse hit just four of their 22 attempts from deep. They made just eight free throws.
It was a frustrating night for the Orange and head coach Jim Boeheim, especially when they look back and see they scored just about every time they attacked the rim.
Ryan Boatright led the Huskies with 17 points. Omar Calhoun had 15 points and six rebounds, while Shabazz Napier chipped in with 10 points and a game-high seven assists. As a team, Connecticut turned the ball over 18 times.
James Sutherland continued to play well after being suspended earlier in the year, scoring 14 points off the bench. Michael Carter-Williams led Syracuse with 15 points, but foul trouble plagued the guard late before he eventually fouled out in the closing seconds.
The win moves UConn to 7-4 in Big East play. Syracuse drops to 8-3.
Next up for the Huskies is a home showdown with Villanova on Saturday afternoon. Syracuse will look to get back on track against Seton Hall at 8 p.m. ET this Saturday.
