Shaqquan Aaron commits to Louisville

2014 wing Shaqquan Aaron has picked Louisville over Arizona, UCLA and Washington among a few other schools.

Andy Lyons

Class of 2014 prospect Shaqquan Aaron committed to Rick Pitino and the Louisville Cardinals before his high school team's district championship game on Saturday.

The 6-foot-8 junior wing is averaging 20 points for Rainier Beach High School in Seattle. The successful recruitment of Aaron keeps the Seattle pipeline to Louisville open, as current Cardinal Peyton Siva and former Cardinal Terrence Williams both came from The Emerald City.

Aaron is rated as a 5-star by 247Sports, and he’s ranked as their 15th-best prospect in the 2014 class. He’s a 4-star recruit according to ESPN, Rivals and Scout. He also garnered interest from Arizona, UCLA, Washington, Syracuse and UNLV.

Aaron will bring a ton of length and high upside to Louisville. He has excellent handles and has an improving jumper, although that must get better if he wants to reach his full potential. He also must get in the weight room and become more committed on the defensive end.

Aaron is the second commitment for Pitino’s 2014 class. He joins Ballard High School point guard Quentin Snider, who is a consensus 4-star recruit.
