A transfer from one of the Florida Gators' conference rivals found himself in handcuffs Wednesday morning. Forward Damontre Harris was arrested for failure to appear in court, according to the Gainesville Sun. The former South Carolina Gamecock was pulled over on Jul. 16 and cited for driving without a license. Harris was supposed to appear at an Aug. 16 arraignment regarding the second-degree misdemeanor, but never showed. He was arrested early on Wednesday morning.

The Fayetteville, NC native is redshirting after playing his freshman and sophomore seasons with the Gamecocks. The 6’10 forward was named to the All-SEC Defensive Team his sophomore year after averaging 2.3 blocks per contest in 20 starts and playing in 31 games. He also dropped 6.8 points per game and grabbed 5.5 rebounds. Harris is sitting out the season due to NCAA transfer rules after leaving South Carolina when then-head coach Darrin Horn was let go.
