No. 19 Wisconsin vs. Northwestern final score: Badgers destroy Wildcats, 69-41

A rough shooting night for the Wildcats made it even easier on the Badgers.

USA TODAY Sports

The No. 19 Wisconsin Badgers made easy work of the Northwestern Wildcats from Welsh-Ryan Arena in Evanston, winning 69-41 behind a strong night of shooting compared to an incredibly rough game from Northwestern.

The Badgers didn’t light up the stat sheet with their shooting, hitting 46 percent from the field and a much worse 29.4 percent from beyond the three-point arc. But it was Northwestern’s 29.4 percent shooting from the floor that sank the Wildcats.

With it being such a low-scoring affair, only three Badgers made it into double digits, with Jared Berggren tied for the team lead at 12 points. Ben Brust joined him in double digits with 12 points, and Sam Dekker chipped in 10 points off the bench. The Badgers did a good job creating second-chance opportunities, yanking down 14 offensive rebounds as a team.

Just one player made it into double digits for the Wildcats, with Reggie Hearn scoring 13 points. Dave Sobolewski came closest to the double-digit threshold with eight points.

Wisconsin will wait nearly a week to take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers in Madison, while the Wildcats hit the road to face the Purdue Boilermakers on Sunday.
