The No. 3 Gonzaga Bulldogs blew out the San Diego Toreros Saturday night, 81-50, and a quick look at the stat sheet makes it clear why.
No. 3 Gonzaga vs. San Diego final score: Bulldogs win 81-50, eye top of polls
The Gonzaga Bulldogs shot the lights out Saturday night, going 30-55 from the field, to dismantle San Diego in an 81-50 rout.

Gonzaga shot 55 percent from the field and 42 from three and San Diego shot just 36 percent and 14 percent from three. The Bulldogs out-rebounded the Toreros 34-16, led by nine from Kelly Olynyk.
And perhaps the most telling stat of them all, Gonzaga had three players in double figures and nine players scored overall, while San Diego players not named Chris Manresa accounted for just 31 Torero points. Kevin Pangos led Gonzaga with 18.
The Bulldogs led by 14 at halftime and shut the Toreros down in the second half, limiting them to just 27 points. That included a stretch of almost seven minutes midway through the final frame in which San Diego did not make a field goal.
Manresa had 19 points to pace San Diego, and remarkably, his three rebounds were a team high. Christopher Anderson also had eight points and four assists.
With the win, Gonzaga improves to 27-2, 14-0 in the West Coast Conference, and is poised to move up at least one spot in the polls after Miami’s loss earlier on Saturday. The Bulldogs have two games left in the regular season and are poised to finish conference play unbeaten.
