Kansas led 11-0 on a Ben McLemore three five minutes in and never looked back. The Jayhawks' 38-9 lead at the break gave TCU the lowest point total in a half in the last 15 years of Big 12 action.
Center Jeff Withey had 18 points on 7-12 shooting to lead the Jayhawks, who handed coach Bill Self his 499th career victory Saturday. The win must have been extra sweet for Self, who ripped his team after its prior loss to the Horned Frogs, calling them the worst Kansas team since James Naismith roamed the sidelines.
McLemore had 14 points and Travis Releford had 12 to help Withey. Devonta Abron led TCU with 18 points and nine rebounds.
The win keeps Kansas in first place in the Big 12 at half a game ahead of Kansas State, who is currently playing Texas.
