No. 8 Florida vs. Tennessee final score: Volunteers chomp Gators, 64-58

Tennessee kept its NCAA Tournament bubble hopes alive with a big win over Florida on Tuesday night.

Jeff Blake-USA TODAY Sports

The Tennessee Volunteers picked up their biggest win of the season on Tuesday night, knocking off No. 8 Florida by a score of 64-58. For a team that currently sits on the wrong side of the bubble, UT's win will go a long way toward having its name called on Selection Sunday.

Florida cut the deficit down to 58-54 with a minute remaining, but missed a wide-open three-pointer from the corner. Jarnell Stokes then came down and made an and-one layup on the other end, essentially ending any chance UF had at making a comeback.

Jordan McRae was the story for Tennessee, who led the way with 27 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Whenever the Volunteers needed a big basket in the second half, it was usually McRae who had the answer.

Another big reason the Vols pulled the upset was their edge in rebounding. They pulled down 40 rebounds, while the Gators had just 27.

Mike Rosario did not shoot the ball well, but he still managed to lead his team with 16 points. Patric Young had 15 points and five rebounds in a pretty quiet performance.

Next up for Tennessee is a rivalry road trip to take on Georgia. Florida will look to get back on track at home against Alabama.
