NCAA basketball rankings: Indiana moves to No. 1 in AP poll after win over Michigan

The Hoosiers are back where they started the season -- at the top of the AP poll.

The Indiana Hoosiers are No. 1 in both the coaches and AP polls after a split atop the two college basketball polls last week. The Hoosiers knocked off AP No. 1 Michigan on Saturday night, and a loss by No. 2 Kansas to Oklahoma State earlier opened up the path back to the top spot. Indiana has a tough week ahead, however, with road games at Illinois and Ohio State. Five of their final nine games in the conference are against teams currently ranked, so it will only get tougher down the stretch as the preseason No. 1 angles for a top seed in the postseason.

Michigan's loss on the road was hardly an upset, so the Wolverines fall just two spots back to No. 3. The Florida Gators are the new No. 2 team, and the only other school to receive first-place votes this week. Billy Donovan's club plays a far less challenging conference schedule than either Indiana or Michigan, but they have rolled right through the SEC so far this season. The Gators play at Arkansas and host Mississippi State this week before getting their first shot at Kentucky next week in Gainesville.
