College hoops Tuesday viewing guide: Michigan, Ohio State clash in top 10 rematch

A rivalry rematch between a pair of arch-rivals is the obvious highlight of an otherwise meh slate of Tuesday night college hoops.

Greg Bartram-USA TODAY Sports

It’s far from the sexiest lineup we’ve seen this season, but the headliner makes it all worth it. Just like when Hanson opened for the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Yes it did...yes they did. I’m not going to argue about this, let’s just talk about the games.

No. 2 Florida at Arkansas (7 p.m./ESPN)

Going with a shocker right off the bat: Arkansas keeps this one in single digits. You have to start exciting, man, that’s how you reel these fish in.

Villanova at DePaul (7 p.m./ESPN2)

VU Hoops' fact about where the Blue Demon nickname comes from is nine times more exciting than this game will be.

In 1900, when the first athletic team to represent DePaul University was organized, the monogram “D” was selected for the uniforms. This originated the nickname “D-men” which evolved into “Demons.” The blue, which combines with Demons, signifies loyalty and was chosen in 1901 by a vote of the student body.

Wake Forest at North Carolina (7 p.m./ESPNU)

Remember this?

That was awesome.

Purdue at Penn State (7 p.m./Big Ten Network)

No...God no.

No. 13 Kansas State at Texas Tech (8 p.m./MASN)

Unlike in past years, K-State has taken care of business in the games they've been expected to win so far this season. It's hard to envision that changing tonight.

No. 10 Ohio State at No. 3 Michigan (9 p.m./ESPN)

Your take from the Michigan side.

South Carolina at Kentucky (9 p.m./ESPNU)

Kentucky has had an issue with playing down to the level of its competition in recent weeks, but the Wildcats might have to play five of Rupp Arena’s front-row patrons to accomplish that feat tonight. Frank Martin’s getting T’d up. Calling it right now.
