Michigan vs Indiana odds: Big Ten conference betting highlights

Michigan owns a home streak while Indiana looks for its first Big Ten crown in 20 years. Tons of college basketball betting action Sunday before major conference tournament action starts this week.

USA TODAY Sports

Two teams will earn March Madness bids today, while the seeding picture continues to take shape as the Big Ten and ACC regular seasons wind down.

Three teams have clinched berths in the upcoming NCAA tournament; Florida Gulf Coast won the Atlantic Sun Conference tournament title Saturday, earning that conference’s automatic bid, Belmont won the Ohio Valley tournament and Harvard claimed the Ivy League’s regular-season crown.

Tipping off Sunday’s slate, the Big South’s automatic bid will be decided when No. 1 seed Charleston Southern and No. 5 seed Liberty meet in that conference’s tournament championship game on a neutral court in Conway, SC (noon ET, ESPN2). Could Liberty be Cinderella?

The Buccaneers went 12-4 in Big South play this season, while the Flames went just 6-10. And Liberty is only 14-20 overall. But in the only meeting this season between the two teams Charleston Southern only won by four points.

In the Atlantic 10 No. 21 VCU, which can tie St. Louis for the conference regular-season title but is locked into the two seed in the upcoming conference tournament, visits 22-8 Temple (noon ET, CBS). In the early betting, the Rams were favored by two points over the Owls, according to the college basketball odds menu at OddsShark.com.

In the Big Ten 21-10 Illinois, with its No. 34 RPI, visits No. 14 Ohio State (12:30 pm ET, ESPN). In early wagering the Illini were getting 9.5 points from the Buckeyes. And the Wolverines and Hoosiers clash, with Indiana hoping to earn the outright title, but underdogs by a few points.

In the Missouri Valley top-seeded Creighton and second-seeded Wichita State get together for the third time this season, this time in the conference championship game in St. Louis (2 pm ET, CBS). In their first meeting this season the Shockers won at home 67-64; but in the second game, just one week ago, the Blue Jays won in Omaha 91-79.

No. 2 Indiana has already celebrated clinching a share of the Big Ten regular-season title; Sunday the Hoosiers will try to win it outright when they visit No. 7 Michigan (4 pm ET, CBS).

And in a bubblicious game in the ACC 20-10 Virginia was an early eight-point home favorite over 20-10 Maryland (6 pm ET, ESPNU).

Conference tournament play also continues Sunday in the Metro Atlantic, the Colonial, the America East, the Southern Conference, the Summit League and the Sun Belt.
