2013 WCC Tournament schedule and bracket: Gonzaga, Saint Mary’s set for championship

The top-two seeds from the West Coast Conference will play for the league championship on Monday night.

USA TODAY Sports

The 2013 West Coast Conference Tournament championship game will feature the Gonzaga Bulldogs and Saint Mary's Gaels on Monday night.

On Saturday, the top-seeded Zags made quick work of Loyola Marymount to advance to the title game. The No. 2 seeded Gaels had trouble putting San Diego away, winning 69-66 in overtime. It was gut-check time for SMC over the weekend, and they came out on top.

Gonzaga and St. Mary’s will meet at 9 p.m. ET on Monday evening. ESPN will have the television coverage. Fans can also find the game streamed live through ESPN3.

Regardless of who wins, both programs should be locks for the NCAA Tournament. If Gonzaga wins, they are likely to earn the west region’s No. 1 seed. If they fall, a No. 2 seed seems likely. Saint Mary’s is currently projected for a seed in the 7-10 range, and while a loss shouldn’t hurt their standing with the Selection Committee, a win could propel them up a couple of rungs for a more favorable matchup in the opening rounds.
