The 2013 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference tournament kicks off on Monday, March 11. Last season, this conference gave us one of the greatest upsets in the NCAA tournament, when No. 15 seed Norfolk State knocked off Missouri in the first round. This year, the Spartans rolled through the conference with a perfect record, and are heavy favorites to go dancing again.
MEAC Tournament 2013 schedule and bracket: Lower seeds begin play Monday
The 2013 MEAC tournament begins on Monday, when most of the lower seeds will tip off.


Norfolk State, North Carolina Central and Hampton, the top three teams in the regular season, earned first round byes and won’t start play until Wednesday. In the meantime, the other 10 teams will be fighting for a chance to crash the party and steal an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
