Despite losing two of their final three regular-season games, the Miami Hurricanes were able to hold on and win their first outright ACC regular-season championship, finishing one game in front of the Duke Blue Devils in the standings. A strong close to the season by North Carolina got the Tar Heels within three games of first place.
