Davidson will be the favorites to cut down the nets and head to the NCAA Tournament when they play the Charleston Cougars on Monday night.

Davidson and the College of Charleston advanced to the Southern Conference championship game on Sunday with their wins in the semifinals. The Wildcats squeaked past Appalachian State with a 65-62 win, while the Cougars beat Elon 68-60.
This will be the third time these two schools have met this season. In the first meeting, Davidson won by 11 points at home. They then headed to Charleston and won again, this time by a score of 75-59.
The Wildcats are one of the hottest teams in the nation. They have won 16 games in a row, with their last loss coming in early January.
Ranked 37th by Kenpom's offensive efficiency ratings, Davidson is a tough team to slow down. They shoot 37 percent from behind the 3-point arc, and if they get fouled, they shoot 81 percent as a team from the free throw line. Jake Cohen is the team's leading scorer with 14.8 points a game. De'Mon Brooks averages 13.4 points, while Nik Cochran is one of the nation's best shooters.
Charleston will be a pretty heavy underdog on Monday night. They’re ranked 190th in the country in offensive efficiency, and getting a consistent effort on the defensive end has been an issue for coach Doug Wojcik at times. Given their struggles against the Wildcats earlier in the season, a win would make quite the statement for the program moving forward.
The championship game is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET on Monday. ESPN2 will televise the game, while ESPN3 will stream the action online.
