Nelson Chenault-US PRESSWIRE

Summit League No. 1 South Dakota State joins Fort Wayne, Western Illinois, and North Dakota State in the semifinals of the 2013 conference tournament. The Jackrabbits will face Fort Wayne for a trip to the title game at 7 p.m. ET on Monday, with Western Illinois and North Dakota State to follow at Sioux Falls Arena.

South Dakota State opened the tournament with a 66-49 quarterfinal win over IUPUI on Saturday. After that, No. 2 Western Illinois narrowly avoided an upset by topping No. 7 South Dakota, 54-53.

The second group of quarterfinals took place on Sunday, with No. 5 Fort Wayne grabbing the only “upset” of the tournament thus far. The Mastodons defeated No. 4 Detroit in blowout fashion, 91-72. IPFW will meet South Dakota State in the semis.

The Jackrabbits took both meetings during the conference schedule, the first being an 83-57 dismantling at home. The Mastodons showed more fight on their own court, losing just 80-74.

Western Illinois will face No. 3 North Dakota State, who beat Kansas City in the final quarterfinal game on Sunday night. UND is the highest rated Summit League team on kenpom.com, but Western Illinois took both regular-season matchups.
