The Big East Tournament took over Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night as the first round of play began. In the first game, Seton Hall rallied late in the second half to force overtime and eventually win over South Florida. The second game saw Rutgers take care of DePaul with ease, 76-57.

Two entertaining games on Tuesday made for a great start to the Big East Tournament in New York City. Four games are scheduled for Wednesday.


Four games are scheduled for Wednesday. At noon, No. 8 seed Providence will take on No. 9 Cincinnati. The Bearcats really need a strong showing at MSG this week if they hope to get off the bubble for the NCAA Tournament. Then, at 2 p.m., the slumping Syracuse Orange will look to get back on track against Seton Hall.
After a three-hour break in the action, No. 7 Villanova will take on No. 10 St. John’s at 7 p.m. under the bright lights. Similar to Cincinnati, the Wildcats could really stand to add a couple more wins to their resume before Selection Sunday. The final game of the day pits No. 6 Notre Dame against No. 11 Rutgers.
