The ACC Tournament is scheduled to kick off on Thursday afternoon with four games on the slate. The first matchup will pit No. 8 seed Boston College against No. 9 Georgia Tech.
Boston College vs. Georgia Tech preview: Season finale rematch kicks off ACC Tournament
In their lone meeting this season, Boston College defeated Georgia Tech by two points at the buzzer.
Tipoff is scheduled for 12 p.m. ET at the Greensboro Coliseum. ESPNU and the ACC Network will televise the game.
In their lone meeting of the season, which came just five days ago, Boston College squeaked out a 74-72 win at home. The game was pretty sloppy throughout, although 15 points from Joe Rahon was enough to secure the victory down the stretch. Rahon is one of Boston College's leading scorers at 10.1 points a game.
According to Kenpom’s efficiency ratings, the Eagles and Yellow Jackets appear to be pretty evenly matched. Georgia Tech is ranked 84th in the nation, and their defense checks in inside the top-30. BC is 106th overall, although a top-50 offense should make for an interesting matchup with two contrasting styles of play on the floor.
The winner of Thursday’s game will advance to play top-seeded Miami on Friday afternoon. The loser will likely have their season come to an end unless they receive an unexpected postseason tournament invite from the NIT or CBI.
