The 2013 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference tournament finished its quarterfinal round on Thursday. On Wednesday, the field blew wide open when the two heavy favorites Norfolk State and North Carolina Central both went down in massive upsets. Thursday was no different, as once again the lower seeds pulled off unexpected wins. Let’s recap Thursday’s action.
2013 MEAC Tournament results and bracket: Delaware State, Morgan State move on to semis
Delaware State and Morgan State moved on to the MEAC semifinals on Friday. The conference field remains wide open.


No. 6 Delaware State Hornets 63, No. 3 Hampton Pirates 60
After Norfolk State lost Wednesday, SB Nation's bracketology guru Chris Dobbertean had Hampton as the new favorite to take the automatic bid. So much for that. Kendall Gray and Casey Walker both led with 13 points and Marques Oliver hauled in 11 rebounds as the Hornets pulled off the latest upset in this wild tournament. Delaware State will face North Carolina A&T on Friday.
No. 5 Morgan State Bears 64, No. 4 Savannah State Tigers 61 (OT)
And with that, the top four seeds in the MEAC tournament are all sent home. Justin Black led the Bears with 20 points and Ian Chiles wasn't far behind with 14 points. Morgan State shot 45.5 percent from the field, while Savannah State managed just 39.2 percent. The Bears will face Bethune-Cookman on Friday.
