Olivier Hanlan scored 41 points to lead the Boston College Eagles to an 84-64 victory over the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in the opening round of the 2013 ACC Tournament. The N.C. State Wolfpack, Maryland Terrapins and Florida State Seminoles also advanced to the quarterfinals with wins on Thursday in Greensboro, N.C.

Boston College’s Olivier Hanlan made a statement in the opening round of the ACC Tournament.
Hanlan, a freshman, made 14-of-18 shots from the floor, including 8-of-10 from beyond the three-point arc, to eclipse his previous career high by 15 points. Joe Rahon added 15 points and seven assists for the Eagles, who will face the top-seeded Miami Hurricanes on Friday.
N.C. State pulled away in the second half for an 80-63 win over the Virginia Tech Hokies in the second game. Richard Howell scored 22 points on 11-of-13 shooting and pulled down 12 rebounds. The Wolfpack have a date with the Virginia Cavaliers in the quarterfinal round.
