N.C. State vs. Miami final score: Hurricanes head to ACC Tournament title game

With both teams pretty much assured of a NCAA berth, the Hurricanes are chasing a one seed as they advance to the ACC tournament final on Sunday.

The Miami Hurricanes are making a case for a No. 1 seed as they beat the N.C. State Wolfpack, 81-71, advancing to the ACC Tournament final on Saturday.

Senior guard Durand Scott scored a career high 32 points, as the Hurricanes played out to a comfortable lead and will face the winner of North Carolina-Maryland in their first ACC championship game.

Sophomore guard Shane Larkin added 23 points for the Hurricanes, who didn't get too much offense from anyone else. But the way Scott was seeing the basketball hoop, they didn't need to much help as Scott shot 12-for-18 from the floor and 3-for-3 from behind the arc.

Miami picked up 13 offense rebounds that led to a host of second chance points for the Hurricanes, and their clean and deliberate game didn’t give N.C. State much of a chance. The Wolfpack committed 14 turnovers and went just 14-of-25 from the free throw line.

Senior forward Scott Wood led the Wolfpack with 21 points, who with the loss will still make the tournament. SB Nation's Chris Dobbertean has the Wolfpack comfortably sitting with an eight-seed as of this morning.
