Wisconsin vs. Indiana final score: Badgers knock off Hoosiers, 68-56, in Big Ten semifinal

Wisconsin has Indiana’s number as they beat the Hoosiers for the 12th straight time to advance to the Big Ten tournament championship final.

David Banks-USA TODAY Sports

The top-seeded Indiana Hoosiers' No. 1 seed hopes for the NCAA tournament might have taken a hit as the fourth-seeded Wisconsin Badgers won, 68-56, to head to the Big Ten tournament championship game.

Coach Tom Crean has never figured out Wisconsin’s grind-it-out style of play as the Badgers beat the Hoosiers for the 12th consecutive time. It is the longest win streak anyone has had against Indiana since 1919, and once again made sure the Hoosiers wouldn’t win their first Big Ten tournament title.

Wisconsin figured out a way to quiet both Cody Zeller and Victor Oladipo and the Hoosiers just didn't have the offense to push past the Badgers. The Hoosiers, normally one of the highest scoring teams in the nation, were held to 38.2 percent from the field as Zeller finished with 13 points and Oladipo finished with 10.

Bo Ryan's Badger squads take a lot of time off the clock and take smart shots, so it was business as usual for Wisconsin. Ryan Evans led the Badgers with 16 points and Ben Brust and Sam Dekker added 12 and 11. Evans was 7-for-12 from the floor and added seven rebounds, four assists and four blocks. The Badgers shot 51 percent as a team and were able to overcome a rare careless game. Wisconsin finished with 15 turnovers, where they have averaged 10 per game.

The Badgers will go on to face the winner between Michigan State and Ohio State in the Big Ten tournament championship final on Sunday.
