The Wisconsin Badgers' stranglehold over the Indiana Hoosiers is difficult to explain, and it continued Saturday with a 68-56 win to advance to the Big Ten tournament championship game.

Wisconsin, the No. 4 seed playing the top-seeded Hoosiers, have now won 12 games in a row in the series. It’s a streak that dates back to Kelvin Sampson’s tenure as Indiana’s coach, and current coach Tom Crean is now 0-10 against the Badgers. The Badgers held Indiana, which averages over 80 points a game, to its lowest output of the season. The 12-point loss was Indiana’s worst of the year.

The Badgers' win Saturday were a result of Wisconsin sticking to its guns, just like in the last 11 games in the series, center Jared Berggren told Shannon Ryan of the Chicago Tribune.

“We knew we were capable of having success against this team if we stuck to our rules and played our style of basketball,” center Jared Berggren said.

Wisconsin will take on the second-seeded Ohio State Buckeyes, which advanced to the final after a 61-58 win over the No. 3 Michigan State Spartans in the second semifinal Saturday. Aaron Craft had 20 points, nine assists and four steals for the Buckeyes, and he scored 18 of his 20 in the second half.

Sunday’s game will be the Buckeyes’ seventh Big Ten tournament final appearance in the last eight years. They won the tournament in 2007, 2010 and 2011. Wisconsin most recently won a conference tournament championship in 2008.
