NCAA Tournament 2013 odds: Louisville the early favorite to win it all

The first odds for the NCAA Tournament have been released, with Louisville the current front-runner.

Debby Wong-USA TODAY Sports

The NCAA Tournament is always one of the most lucrative draws in Vegas, and 2013 promises to be no different. Sports gambling expert R.J. Bell expects over $12 billion to be wagered on this year’s tournament alone. Meanwhile, the players are still going unpaid, but that’s a can of worms for another time.

Anyway, the tourney field was set on Sunday evening, and the oddsmakers wasted little time setting their lines. According to The Linemakers, the Louisville Cardinals, No. 1 overall seed, are the current favorites to win the tournament, with 9-2 odds. The Indiana Hoosiers are close behind at 7-1, followed by the Duke Blue Devils (8-1) and Florida Gators (8-1). The Gonzaga Bulldogs have the lowest odds out of all No. 1 seeds, with 12-1 odds at this time.

If you’re feeling either lucky, or crazy, or a little bit of both, Saint Mary’s, Davidson, Belmont, La Salle and Boise State all have 1,000-1 odds.
