The 16-team field for the 2013 College Basketball Invitational Tournament was announced Sunday night, and play gets underway Tuesday. Participants this year include power-conference schools Texas and Purdue.
CBI Tournament schedule 2013: 1st round starts Tuesday
Texas and Purdue are the big names in the tournament this year.

The CBI is a single-elimination game until the championship matchup, which is played as a best-of-three series. The teams are re-seeded for the semifinal round, and all games are played at on-campus venues. Pittsburgh, which won the CBI in 2012, is not around to defend its title, as it earned a bid to the NCAA Tournament this season.
