In the South Region of the 2013 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament, the Kansas Jayhawks hold the No. 1 seed with their first two games being played down the road from Lawrence in Kansas City, Mo.
NCAA bracket 2013 predictions: Georgetown will emerge from the South
There are plenty of really good teams in the South Region, but one stands alone as the best.

Looking at the South bracket, it's tough to see a more interesting matchup than if Kansas plays the North Carolina Tar Heels and Roy Williams in the third round. The Williams dynamic is intriguing enough, coaching against his old school and all of that, but North Carolina can play.
I’m going with the Tar Heels to knock off what has been a very inconsistent Kansas team in that game and move onto the Sweet 16.
It would also be very surprising if both Michigan and VCU don’t advance to play each other in the third round. VCU got a brutal draw though, with these games being played in Auburn Hills, Mich. Look for the Wolverines to move on here.
Want a sleeper team? Go with the Minnesota Golden Gophers led by Tubby Smith. They draw a UCLA Bruins squad that plays in a bad Pac-12 conference and hasn't shown up to quite a few of its games. Should Minnesota shut down Shabazz Muhammad, it will be a runaway.
They would meet Florida in the next game, which could be must-see. The Gators have Kenny Boynton, experience and talent over the Gophers, but they have struggled bad lately. Still, give me Florida.
Down in Georgetown’s section, I’m seeing chalk. The Hoyas are too good, and although I think they see a San Diego State team that can give them problems, it’s not going to be enough.
All of that leaves us with North Carolina vs. Michigan and Florida vs. Georgetown.
In the first of those two contests, I'm going with Trey Burke and the Wolverines. Michigan is simply too talented with Tim Hardaway Jr. and Glenn Robinson III, not to mention being battle-tested from its Big Ten schedule.
I also expect Georgetown to advance. Florida just isn't playing well enough to get past Otto Porter, who might be the most underrated player in the country. He can do it all, especially on the defensive end.
In the regional final, I once again want the Hoyas. Overall, they are the most complete team in this bracket. Even if I’m wrong and they meet Kansas (which I’m never wrong, ever), the Hoyas will still come out on top.
