March Madness 2013: Game time, TV schedule for Middle Tennessee vs. St. Mary’s

The St. Mary’s Gaels and Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders face off in the second First Four game on Tuesday.

Both teams earned at-large bids with resumes that were solid but not quite good enough to get into the round of 64. St. Mary’s (27-6, 14-2 WCC) beat San Diego to make it to the WCC championship game before getting blown out by Gonzaga, 65-51.

Middle Tennessee (28-5, 19-1 Sun Belt) had to do even more sweating on Selection Sunday. The overwhelming favorite to win the Sun Belt tournament, they instead fell to Florida International in the semifinal round and were the subject of much debate as to their at-large credentials. In the end, the committee decided that their RPI and road record were good enough to get in.

The teams will play on Tuesday evening, and the winner goes on to play No. 6 Memphis in the Midwest region on Thursday.
