College Insider Tournament 2013 bracket and schedule: Weather postpones 2 games

The CIT gets going on Tuesday, but weather conditions have already forced a pair of games to Wednesday.

USA TODAY Sports

Fairfield and Kent State were scheduled to start their quests to a CIT title on Tuesday, but that will now have to wait until Wednesday because of a blizzard in the Northeast limiting travel. Bitterly cold temperatures in the Midwest have also pushed the first-round game between North Dakota and Northern Iowa back a day.

There will still be plenty of CIT action on Tuesday, with a slate of six games scheduled.

Eastern Kentucky is likely to be the favorite on the road as it travels to face Gardner Webb at 7 p.m. ET. At the same time, Savannah State visits East Carolina and Rider takes on Hartford. Oakland and Youngstown State tip off at 7:05 p.m.

Boston University heads to Loyola (Md.) at 7:30 p.m., while Tennessee State visits Evansville at 8 p.m.

According to kenpom.com’s “FanMatch” metric, the best CIT game of the day will be EKU and Gardner Webb with a thrill score of 40.3. The matchup with the least promise is Savannah State and East Carolina. ECU is a heavy favorite.

All results and an updated list of games can be found at the CIT’s official website. The tournament has yet to create a bracket, as second-round sites are determined by the possible hosts. Every game can be streamed live here.
