The first matchup to keep an eye on is the No. 4 vs. No. 13 game featuring Michigan and South Dakota State. Michigan seems ripe for an upset after losing three of their last six games, including a 68-59 loss to Wisconsin in the Big Ten Tournament. Meanwhile, South Dakota State has won six of their last eight games, led by the nation's fourth-leading scorer Nate Wolters, who averages 22.7 points per game.
Looking at the other end of the South Region bracket, the No. 11 seed Minnesota Golden Gophers could upset the sixth-seeded UCLA Bruins, a team which is coming off a loss in the Pac-12 Championship Game. Minnesota has struggled of late, losing their last three games; however, they do have victories over Indiana, Michigan State and Wisconsin from earlier in the season. Forward Trevor Mbakwe (8.7 rebounds) and Rodney Williams (10.3 points and 5.1 rebounds) will play key roles for the Gophers.
