The NCAA Tournament wasn’t the only postseason tournament to tip-off on Tuesday, as the 2013 CollegeInsider.com Tournament also began first-round play. While it doesn’t have the reputation of the Big Dance, NIT or even CBI, there’s still a trophy to be handed out and teams that want it.
CIT 2013 bracket results: Six teams advance to 2nd round on Tuesday
The 2013 CIT tipped off on Tuesday with six first-round games. Let’s recap the action.


Let’s recap Tuesday’s action:
Rider Broncos 63, Hartford Hawks 54
Anthony Miles scored 23 points, Daniel Stewart grabbed eight rebounds and the Broncos made 51.2 percent of their field goals to roll over Hartford.
Miguel Paul made two free-throws with 13 seconds left to complete a huge rally for the Pirates, who trailed by as many as nine points in the second half. Maurice Kemp led with 21 points and Robert Sampson got 14 rebounds to lead ECU.
Eastern Kentucky Colonels 69, Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs 62
Corey Walden and Glenn Cosey led the Colonels with 26 and 22 points, respectively. Eastern Kentucky buried Gardner-Webb with three pointers, making 12-of-26 shots from downtown. Donta Harper got 17 points to lead the Bulldogs.
Youngstown St. Penguins 99, Oakland Golden Grizzlies 87
Five Penguins had double-digit points in this offensive shootout, led by Kendrick Perry with 31. Youngstown St. was another team raining threes on their opponent, making 18-of-35 from long distance and shooting 48.4 percent on their field-goal attempts for the game.
Loyola (MD) Greyhounds 70, Boston U Terriers 63
Robert Olson and Dylon Cormier both had 16 points to lead the Greyhounds to the second round. They shot 44.9 percent from the field and won the glass battle, out-rebounding Boston 29-25.
Evansville Aces 84, Tennessee St. Tigers 72
