Twelve players scored for the Bulldogs as the No. 25 Louisiana Tech Bulldogs used a big first half to topple the San Jose State Spartans, 88-61, Saturday night in Ruston, La.

Louisiana Tech saw contributions from 12 players Saturday night as the Bulldogs stormed past San Jose State, 88-61, for their 18th consecutive victory.


The win was the 18th in a row for the Bulldogs, who are now 26-3 overall and 16-0 in the WAC. Louisiana State also locked up a share of the WAC regular season championship and can clinch the No. 1 seed in the WAC tournament with a win Thursday over New Mexico State.
Louisiana Tech jumped out to a 10-2 lead in this one and extended it to 23-10 just over nine minutes in as one of the nation’s most prolific scoring teams found its groove. The Bulldogs led 45-26 at the half.
Ten threes buoyed the Louisiana Tech offense, including three from Raheem Appleby. He led all scorers with 16 points. Appleby is one of four guards in the Bulldogs' starting lineup, and each of the other three chipped in as well. Brandon Gibson had 12 points, Cordarius Johnson had eight points and nine rebounds, and Kenneth Smith had two points, five rebounds and nine assists.
Xavier Jones led San Jose State with 14 points, but the Spartans turned it over 21 times and were out-rebounded 39-30.
