Georgetown vs. Florida Gulf Coast: Game time, TV schedule for 2013 March Madness

Florida Gulf Coast is making its first NCAA Tournament appearance in school history. It’s not expected to last long.

Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

The Florida Gulf Coast Eagles made the NCAA Tournament in just their second year of eligibility, winning the Atlantic Sun Conference title to gain an automatic bid. For their efforts, they got a No. 15 seed and will be facing the Georgetown Hoyas in the second round.

More: Casual Hoya

The Hoyas have been on a minor swoon at the end of the season, losing two out of their last four games in a run that probably cost them a No. 1 seed. However, they're still loaded with talent and are expected to make a deep run in the tournament. Georgetown is led by sophomore forward Otto Porter Jr. (16.3 ppg, 7.4 rpg) and junior guard Markel Starks (12.5 ppg, 1.8 rpg, 2.9 apg).

The Hoyas are heavy favorites in this game, but the Eagles are no slouches. They beat Miami back in November and scheduled games against teams like Duke, VCU and Iowa St., proving that they’re not afraid to take on the big boys. They rank 49th in the nation in both points per game and field goal percentage, making them an interesting contrast to Georgetown’s physical defensive style. An upset probably won’t happen here, but FGCU should at least make the Hoyas earn the victory.

Game time, TV: Friday, March 22, 6:50 p.m. ET, TBS

Location: Wells Fargo Center, Philadelphia

Line: Georgetown by 14
