Missouri was dominated throughout the evening on the glass in the 84-72 defeat, a surprising development considering the Tigers came in as the No. 2 rebounding team in the land.
Over at Rock M Nation, our Missouri blog, Bill C. wrote about the rebounding issue:
Mizzou was actually mostly fine on the defensive glass. Colorado State was only +2 on that side, and one of those offensive rebounds was the Hornung’s “tip-in” of the intended lob from Greg Smith. But there was absolutely no presence whatsoever on the defensive end.
Missouri couldn’t contain Dorian Green who led all scorers with 26 points. Green got to the line at will throughout the evening, hitting on 11 of 12 free throw attempts.
All in all, the Tigers walk away from the 2012-13 season with some positive but also with work to be done after earning a tourney berth in their first SEC season. It was a year of transition for Missouri, who will continue to adjust to its new surroundings in its next campaign.
