Here’s how things shape up for Saturday, with some early March Madness odds for consideration.
In Auburn Hills four seed Michigan goes up against five seed VCU (12:15 pm ET, CBS), after which three seed Michigan State takes on six seed Memphis (2:45 pm ET, CBS).
In early betting, the Wolverines were favored by 3.5 points over the press-happy Rams, and the Spartans were favored by six points over the Tigers. [ Lines and previews on every game at SBNation ]
In Lexington No. 1 seed Louisville plays eight seed Colorado State (5:15 pm ET, CBS), and three seed Marquette grapples with sixth-seeded Butler (7:45 pm ET, CBS).
The Cardinals were favored by 11 points in the early betting over the other Rams, and the Warriors (AKA “Golden Eagles”) were favored by a bucket over the Bulldogs.
Out in Salt Lake City 14th-seeded Harvard goes looking for another upset victim in sixth-seeded Arizona (6:10 pm ET, TNT), after which No. 1 seed Gonzaga takes on ninth-seeded Wichita State (8:40 pm ET, TNT).
The Crimson were getting 10 points from the Wildcats in the early betting, while the Zags were favored by six points over the Shockers.
And in San Jose 12th-seeded Oregon challenges fourth-seeded St. Louis (7:10 pm ET, TBS), after which 12th-seeded Cal takes on fourth-seeded Syracuse (9:40 pm ET, TBS).
In the early betting the under-rated Ducks were getting four points from the Billikens, and the Bears were getting seven points from the Orange.
As of Saturday morning on the updated NCAA tournament championship board at Bovada.lv, Louisville was listed as a 9/2 favorite, followed by, among others, Gonzaga at 10/1, Michigan and St. Louis at 20/1, Michigan State and Syracuse at 22/1, Arizona and VCU at 40/1, Colorado State, Marquette and Oregon at 50/1, Memphis at 66/1, Butler at 75/1, Cal at 100/1, Wichita State at 125/1 and Harvard at 200/1.
