Bobby Hurley to be named Buffalo coach, according to report
The Buffalo Bulls basketball program has hired Bobby Hurley as its new head coach.

Buffalo fired longtime coach Reggie Witherspoon after a 14-20 campaign in 2012-13. Witherspoon had coached the team for 14 years and led them to seven winning seasons and an NIT berth in 2005, but no NCAA Tournament appearances.
Hurley is perhaps best known for his storied career at Duke. He played with the Blue Devils from 1989-93, helping them get to four Final Four appearances and two national titles. After a life-threatening car accident in December 1993 while a member of the Sacramento Kings mostly washed out his NBA career, Hurley ultimately entered the coaching ranks in 2010, joining younger brother Dan’s staff at Wagner College as an assistant. They spent the 2012-13 season together at Rhode Island, with Bobby serving as associate head coach.
This will be his first head coaching gig.
