CIT Tournament 2013 results: Evansville wins thriller over Canisius, 84-83

Evansville, Northern Iowa and East Carolina all advanced to the semifinals on Tuesday night.

Three quarterfinal games made for a busy night across the 2013 College Invitational Tournament.

The first game of the night pitted East Carolina against Loyola (MD). Despite being tied at halftime, the Pirates came out strong to begin the second half and never looked back, picking up the 70-58 win. Maurice Kemp led ECU with 20 points, five rebounds and three blocks. East Carolina went 24 for 30 from the free-throw line, while the Greyhounds converted just eight of their 14 attempts.

The best game of the evening was between Evansville and Canisius. The Evansville Aces scored 56 points in the second half to pick up the 84-83 road win to advance to the semifinals. Colt Ryan scored 39 points for Evansville, and he was nearly unstoppable down the stretch.

The nightcap saw Northern Iowa square off against Bradley. This one was not nearly as close as the other two, with UNI pulling away early in the second half to pick up the 90-77 win. The Panthers will face either Oral Roberts or Weber St. in the next round.
