NIT bracket results 2013: Semifinals are set for next week in New York

College basketball’s longest-running postseason tournament is nearing its conclusion, and the semifinals are now set after Wednesday night’s games.

Peter Casey-USA TODAY Sports

With three quarterfinal games complete on Wednesday night, fans now know what the 2013 National Invitational Tournament semifinals will look like next week at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Maryland punched its ticket to Manhattan on Tuesday night with a one-point win over Alabama, and the Iowa Hawkeyes, BYU Cougars and Baylor Bears all joined the Terrapins with wins on Wednesday.

Iowa and BYU picked up their wins on the road, with the Hawkeyes taking down top-seeded Virginia, 75-64, and the Cougars beating Southern Miss, 79-62.

Baylor later took care of a pesky Providence team, 79-68, at home.

With the final four teams now set, Baylor knows it will be playing BYU on Tuesday, April 2 at 7 p.m. ET in the first semifinal. The second semifinal will feature Maryland and Iowa, tipping off around 9:30 p.m.

The semifinal winners will then meet on April 4 to decide a champion at 9 p.m. ET. All those games can be seen on ESPN or ESPN2.
