2013 NCAA Tournament: Miami’s depressing halftime shot chart

Miami was woeful from the field in the first half. Here’s a shot chart to prove it.

USA TODAY Sports

The No. 2 Miami Hurricanes made just 6-of-28 shot attempts on their way to a 16-point first half against the No. 3 Marquette Golden Eagles in the Sweet 16 of the 2013 NCAA Tournament on Thursday.

Miami continued to hoist up 3-pointers despite making just one of their 12 attempts, leading to this rather depressing graphic depicting the Hurricanes’ effort (via @ESPNStatsInfo on Twitter):

The Golden Eagles entered the break with a 28-16 lead by holding the ‘Canes to a 21.8-percent clip from the field while hitting 44.4 percent of their own shot attempts.
