Wichita State vs. La Salle score: Shockers lead at halftime, 38-22

Wichita State is dominating La Salle in the paint and on the boards, and leads the Explorers at the half, 38-22.

The Wichita State Shockers have used their size and strength advantage to outmuscle the La Salle Exploreers, and go into halftime up 38-22.

The Shockers rode a hot streak by Carl Hall, who scored 10 of the team's first 14 points. La Salle went nearly seven minutes without scoring a field goal as Wichita rolled to a 17-3 run to start the game.

The Explorers started to wake up around the 12-minute mark. Led by Tyrone Garland (eight points, 2-of-4 on three-pointers), La Salle went on an 8-2 run to cut the deficit to single digits. Wichita's size in the paint has been too much to overcome, however, as they finished the half with a 9-1 run. It hasn't helped La Salle that star guard Ramon Galloway didn't score his first points until 5:25 left in the half.

Wichita State is dominating the glass battle, outrebounding the Explorers, 25-8. Hall finished the half with 14 points and the team shot 53.3 percent from the floor.
